A good start is to look for higher compression. Look for some p29 pistons and strong rods. Also head work. Port n polish, cam, valve train etc. Some smaller bolt ons such as intake, header and exhaust will help along with a intake mani with a big plenum and a bigger throttle body. And most important fuel management and tune. Tuning is where it will all come together.

I would highly recommend if you would like to build a reliable all motor setup, invest on the right parts the first time. We can help you out with forged pistons that will have proper valve releases for our high lift camshafts which are a much stronger and superior over cast pistons. Another week point is factory rods being so we have developed H-beam steel rods with ARP2000 that can handle very high rpm and even 800hp for force induction setups yet light enough for all motor applications. Like efsedanz6 says as well head work, proper camshaft, valve train and yes most importantly engine management and tuning.
